Description

This 100% rye mashbill aged 1-year in charred new oak. The whiskey was then finished for 1/2 year in an ex-bourbon maple syrup barrel. This offering is presented at cask strength, which comes in at 116 proof. The barrel pick was named Up Fig's Creek, which combined tasting notes and part of Catoctin Creek's name. tasting notes by Colonel Steve Akley This offering offers up notes of sweet figs and a bounty of flavor, all reminiscent of your favorite dessert ingredients. This whiskey has a very pleasant mouthfeel that yields a nice viscosity. The viscous nature of this pick, means that the warm glow of a finish sticks around for a while. This is a solid offering you'll want to drink neat, but if you decide to mix it up in an Old Fashioned you would be in for a treat.
